Much is expected of professional Tobacconists, since they have the distinct privilege of combing their work with their passions. It is the duty of every professional Tobacconist to serve customers as they would like to be served, or better. Certified Consumer Tobacconists are on the “front lines” of the luxury tobacco industry, and they are uniquely positioned to assess, critique, and/or praise Certified Retail Tobacconists.
The duty of a Certified Consumer Tobacconist is to patronize their retailers and give TOBACCONIST UNIVERSITY® feedback, whenever possible, in the form of surveys, email, and/or phone communication. The only way to ensure the highest standards of Tobacconist professionalism is to contribute to a system of accountability and positive reinforcement.

TU Certified Tobacconists are committed to maintaining our facilities to the highest standards possible. Cleanliness, organization, merchandising, and attention to detail are all important factors in providing the proper environment to sell and consume our products.
Certified Consumer Tobacconists support this process by reinforcing retailer efforts and providing feedback to retailers and TOBACCONIST UNIVERSITY®.

Certainly, Courtesy & Kindness are good values to live by, but they are also the foundation of Tobacconist Values. Tobacco shops can seem intimidating or exclusive to the uninitiated, so it is imperative to express our values with welcoming body language and communication. Frequently, customers in a tobacco store are more comfortable talking to a fellow customer, than to a professional Tobacconist.
Certified Consumer Tobacconists are surrogates for professional Tobacconists and are obliged to help and share their knowledge with fellow aficionados.
