Packaging, Aging & Shipping

For most products, packaging is a simple act; place them in a cardboard box with plastic stuff, and voila, ready for shipping.  Even great wines are simply poured into a bottle, corked, and labeled.  But cigars are completely different.  Cigars are packaged with more care and distinction than any other product in the world.  Partly to maintain humidity and integrity, and also to differentiate themselves in the marketplace.  Without bands and boxes, cigars can seem like generic or commodity products.  Cigars need their ornamentation to distinguish themselves in the customer's mind.  Read through this section of Tobacco College and you will appreciate the care, time, and trouble taken to properly market cigars.
