I am the host of one of the only pipe and tobacco radio shows in the world. I make no money off the show and do it simply because I enjoy the hobby of smoking pipes and cigars. Please don't take our rights away.

Here in North Carolina, the state government is trying its hardest to kick out the product that made this state, and to a lesser extent, this country. It has to end somewhere. Peoples jobs depend on it.

The retail tobacconist store is quickly becoming the last refuge for law abiding citizens to enjoy a premium cigar, regardless of weather, with like-minded individuals. Smokers understand the risks associated with their hobby. We do not need the government to attempt to protect us from ourselves with obstructive and demeaning legislation.

I am a 21 year old tobacconist. I work for both the Tinder Box and Havana Mix in Memphis, TN and I truly see the importance of allowing your customers to smoke inside your retail shop. Thank you so much for trying to preserve this right.

Enough is enough. Its time to stand up and scream that I will no longer stand by as my personal liberties are slowly eroded away. I am a tax paying, hard working man who chooses to smoke premium cigars.

I am an avid cigar smoker, but more importantly, I am a citizen who believes that it is not the governments role to legislate what it believes is best for me. I believe the governments role is to protect my freedom, and protect my family from foreign invaders and assist in protecting my family from criminals. I do not want nor need the government to protect me from myself. If a private business owner chooses to allow smoking in his/her establishment, the free market and adults choosing whether to do business with him will determine the business' success. This is a dangerous road our legislators are traveling.

We need to stand up for our rights on all fronts not just smoking.
It is a shame that a person who owns a tobacco shop does not have the choice to allow people to smoke products bought their store.

As a Native American, anti-tobacco issues such as this one have additional cultural and spiritual implications that make the war against the continual erosion of our basic liberties as poignant as ever.

It is just ludicrous that the government is telling people when and where they are allowed to smoke. Even more appalling is telling business owners what they can and can't allow in their own establishments. What happened to our FREE COUNTRY??!!

Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness
These are rights under the
US Constitution.
Just as important as my right to keep and bear arms.
And to grow my beard as long as I wish to.
Smoking cigars is a pursuit of happiness.

Nobody has business to either work in or walk in to a Tobacconist store unless they are looking for Tobacco. One thing about Cigar smoke, it is not laden with chemicals that cigarette smoke has. Cigars are a natural product, fermented and aged naturally without chemicals. The people that smoke cigars do not inhale and are not addicted to nicotine. They smoke for the enjoyment of the cigar itself. Allowing the business owner the right to choose to allow smoking in his establishment should be a basic right protected by our constitution.
