Its a cigar store, why wouldn't you allow smoking in them?!?! Where else would you say we go? This is ridiculous at the best.

Humans were given all the laws they need, and they do not include cigar regulations.

as i sit here enjoying my pipe tobacco. i realize.. what is the big deal??? is it truly that important? aren't there more pressing issues than this? to take away ones right to enjoy such a leisurely pass time, in the comfort of the place where these items can be purchased. i guess next they will stop people from eating in restaurants, or drinking in bars/pubs. find something real to do with your time than bully the taxpayers.

Is there a fundamental liberty in tobacco? I don't think so. But, regulating tobacco to the point of extinction is just ignorant. This is a matter of choice and the ill effects are only on the people who choose to partake. If the argument for more regulation revolves around social healthcare issues-- get real! The biggest problems facing our nation are more closely related to fast food. Outlaw the use of fast food at McDonald's etc. Then I'll think you're serious.

I will be actively monitoring the progress of this legislation and the individuals who support it; my findings will be posted online on Facebook, Twitter, and co-bloggers for dissemination. Please keep in mind that the majority of consitituents who oppose this bill and any further regulation of the cigar industry are among the wealthier classifications (i.e., individuals who contribute to state campaign funds).

Whether I smoke or not simply isn't the government's decision. Smoking in a tobacco store eliminates any arguments about second hand smoke. If you do not want to smoke, don't go to a cigar shop.

Tobacco has been a cash crop on the American continents since the days of the United States', colonization. I work in the tobacco Industry and i enjoy cigars and pipe tobacco. To think America wants to outlaw one of its oldest traditions is an outrage.

The United States of America was built on the backs of the tobacco industry, so how can our "government" now decide that tobacco use is anti-American.

Cigar smoking is a luxury that many of us indulge, we do not impose cigar smoking on anyone else but for our own pleasure. Many small businesses will be without, and many people will be out of a job. It is bad enough our economy is hurting you will only rise the unemployment rate even more. Society is influenced everyday by other hazardous products that are actually imposed on the community by the media, example unsafe weight loss products, un-needed surgeries...Will that be band as well? There are more important issues that need to be addressed.......but obviously the FDA has their priorities a bit off......

These laws that restrict our rights are not only unfair and overly harsh, they are setting a dangerous precedent for the future regarding other products. Tobacco employs people all over the world, punishing a legitimate industry has repercussions much farther reaching than most can imagine.

My name is David Bryant Mogilner, I am 30yrs old and a second generation retail Tobacconist, my families store has operated in the same location for 40+ years. . If people could not smoke/purchase tobacco in my store, me and my family will be out on the street. I do have a college education and I am capable of working in another field but regardless, tobacco service and sales is my life, livelihood and love. Its what I've done my entire professional career/life. I started working my family store 20years ago when I was only 10. That store has provided a stable platform for me and my family to strive/succeed, it is where I learned to work, it has put two other sisters and a brother in law through college(NYU & Brandise), it pays out more tax per capita than any other style/vein of retail store nation wide. That same store employes no less than 10 people(5 full-time). My stores success allows me and my father to pay out an average of just about double Californians minimum wage. We offer healthcare packages, paid vacations and holidays. We currently employ 3 college students, all of whom live away from home. Closing stores like mine is what destroys Americas middle-class, increases unemployment and robs our citizens of their rights to buy/purchase and a place to enjoy currently legal product. Stay out of our lives please. We where doing just fine without you guys.. I worry now.IAm I going to have a business? Will I be able to put my children through college? WTF?..

America has always been the country of choice and opportunity but if we as citizens continue to allow legislation to be passed that restricts our liberties and surrenders our rights then we can no longer identify our country with those phrases and begin to admit that we failed in our vigilence to ideals and values this country was founded upon.

This is a personal-liberties question. If one's personal choice does not actually impact another's personal liberties, then there should be no issue as to the right to exercise that choice.
