Also known as Candela, Double Claro and American Market Selection (AMS), these leaves are Flue-Cured (or heat cured) to fix the chlorophyll levels in the leaf and produce the desired green color. Cigars with this wrapper type became popular in America after the Cuban Trade Embargo and provide a very unique flavor profile which has declined in popularity since the 1970s.
